Fuchsia, 2026
Interactive installation, 2 × 1.5 × 2-3 m (H × W × D)
50" vertical screen installed at eye height, Orbbec Femto Bolt depth camera, system built in Touchdesigner
The viewer’s 3-dimensional face and figure are captured using a depth sensor and recreated life-size and in real time on a vertical 50-inch Led screen, as though looking into an otherworldly mirror. Within the digital reflection, a bright fuchsia glow emerges inside the viewer’s skull in place of the brain and remains internally connected as the viewer moves through the installation.
The sensual fuchsia colour was chosen as a hue that exists in its own right, neither red nor pink.
The interactive installation is constructed and processed through a custom system built by me in Touchdesigner.

Behind-the-scenes

The viewer’s depth and volume data are used to reconstruct their 3d double, with the glowing sphere embedded within the actual spatial volume of the head.
